OFFLINE TEAM
Your role:
The NPD Executive/Manager is responsible for the driving opportunities to new product development, conceptualization, initiation, evaluation, formula innovation, packaging and product design, and ensure the parameters of the product development time-line, budget and schedule are followed. Reporting to the Managing Director.
Job Description:
• Manage the concept-to-launch execution of specific core and trend skincare products across all categories from a product development and product marketing standpoint; closely work with Marketing Director to gain directional and strategic alignment along the way.
• Be responsible for driving all phases of new product development for select launches, including: trend scouting and ideation, market research, concept development, creation of NPD briefs, communication of key details with sourcing/development team, formula evaluation/approval, product validations, facilitation of trainer and consumer testing, development of product artwork, naming & copy.
• Establishes benchmarks, lead new formula development, work closely with R&D and external labs to deliver on products objectives, understand issues, trends, technologies and reviews product submissions, providing feedback/direction/redirects, establishing user testing, and approves initial formulas.
• Create compelling product concepts and package designs, working closely with the R&D Manager and Creative Director, that generates exciting new opportunities for brand growth
• Work closely with sourcing/development team on prioritization/time management to ensure all key marketing deadlines and milestones are met in order to make launch timing.
• Team up with regulatory and QC team to coordinate all necessary product efficacy and consumer testing; determine testing perimeters, panel questions and necessary in-use testing specific to each product launch.
• Mentor and guide one direct report on product positioning, product assortments, problem solving on individual project assignments, create career pathing and growth plan.
• Support Director on creation of strategic presentation materials needed for team meetings (new product launch set, launching strategy slides, product profiles, marketing material for sharing and promoting, etc.)
• Do plan and timeline for first launching new product to sales channels, prepare marketing material and price promotion to influencers, press and medias.
