LG was founded in 1947 as Lak Hui Chemical Industrial Corp. and has played a significant role in Korea’s corporate history ever since. Eleven years later Goldstar was established in the aftermath of the Korean War to provide the rebuilding nation with domestically-produced consumer electronic and home appliance products.
