Production Supervisor (Suphan Buri)

Your opportunity
This role is responsible for overseeing the entire seed cleaning activities required by East-West Seed to be able to meet the target quality and quantity of processed seeds to be delivered to customers in an efficient and timely manner. The job holder is expected to plan, organize and direct the various tasks involved in these operations while supervising a team following the established system, processes and standards in support of the overall business objectives of East-West Seed.

Specific Responsibilities

Seed Cleaning Operations
  • Based on the annual seed volume target of the country, prepares the operational and manpower plan to achieve the target.
  • Following the approved work processes and standards of East-West Seed for seed cleaning, organizes the work processes into tasks and work instructions for proper delegation.
  • Ensures proper training of the team members in performing their work processes.
  • Provides clear direction to the team and oversees the smooth execution of day to day operational activities and tasks.
  • Establishes a system for monitoring the efficiency of work operations i.e. process, equipment and people. Ensures that all procedures are strictly followed and implemented and quality standards are being met.
  • Ensures that all equipment needed for seed cleaning activities are in good condition. Plans and schedules the regular equipment maintenance program to prevent breakdowns and/or interruptions to operations.
  • Reviews the team’s operational performance and finds solutions to identified issues/concerns. Coordinates and collaborates with other departments (ex. QA), as needed, for solving operational issues. Informs management regarding critical operational issues that might impact the business in meeting its targets.
Process Improvement
  • Keeps track of the process improvements that are being mandated by the Group Seed Operations Management and ensures that the country is able to align and implement accordingly.
  • Reviews the current work processes and provides recommendations for improvement to Group Seed Operations Management.
  • Keeps abreast of new trends, practices, and technologies in seed operations and identifies ideas that may apply to East-West Seed.
Data Management and Reporting
  • Ensures that the required seed cleaning activity records are accurately documented and updated into the ABS system in a timely manner. Strictly ensures that data integrity is observed by all team members at all times.
  • Prepares, reviews and submits the reports needed by management on a regular basis based on agreed timelines.
  • Keeps an organized and updated records management of the department’s files.
Safety Management
  • Implements and communicates the safety policies and program of the company.
  • Ensures that the work environment (including equipment, processes, availability of personal protective equipment) is generally safe at all times.
  • Trains team members on safety guidelines and ensures strict observance.
People Management
  • Responsible for hiring, developing, managing performance and engaging his/her team to ensure they are able to perform to expectations and are able to contribute to the achievement of the company’s goals.
  • Works closely with HR partner in the country for managing employee concerns and issues.
Financial Management
  • Plans and submits an annual budget to the department manager for consolidation and approval.
  • Monitors proper utilization of budget and keeps track of expenses in the department.
Reporting Structure
  • Directly reports to Assistant Manager, Seed Processing
  • Responsible for a team of 12 Pax

คุณสมบัติ

Success Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Seed Technology, Agriculture Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent degree
  • 3 years of work experience preferably from a seed processing plant; with knowledge of seed operations (seed cleaning, in particular)
  • Previous experience in using an ERP system ex SAP, MS Dynamics or an equivalent of EWS’ ABS
  • Ability to speak and write in English
  • Flexibility to work on shifting schedule
  • Physically fit to operate in a plant setting involving equipment handling and operations
