The Process Safety Specialist applies technical knowledge of process safety to deploy Cargill standards for the
management of hazardous processes. The incumbent of this position is a member of the regional process safety team, providing expertise for the development of the strategies for the deployment, implementation and sustainment of the Cargill Process Safety Risk Management (PSRM) standards to ensure a consistent and effective operationalization within the NA region.
The incumbent is responsible for building process safety capabilities within the region and work with the sub-regional EHS teams and corresponding sites to provide the technical knowledge and assistance to ensure consistent implementation of Process Safety standards and gap closure.
70% Process Safety Risk Management and capability building
Assist the Process Safety Director NA to develop strategies for regional deployment of process safety control programs and the development of process safety expertise and capability
Build process safety capability within the EHS sub-regional teams and corresponding sites
Provide technical, regulatory and strategic consultation, support, and training on the Cargill Process Safety
Risk Management (PSRM) requirements and tools to support local sites as they integrate PSRM within their operations and build a strong PSRM culture
Develop and execute ongoing stakeholder and change management processes, communication, and education activities within the region
Technical support of the deployment of process safety portfolio and projects in region (e.g. Consequence Modelling, Dust characterization, Building Risk Assessment (BRA), Subject Matter Expertise for MOC/Incident Investigation, New Build Projects)
Using expert knowledge to deliver guidance and training solutions related to process safety practices.
Localize the Cargill standards, practices, training and promotional materials to suit the regional needs.
20% Sustainment of Cargill Process Safety Standards and data analysis
Assist the Process Safety Director NA to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the Cargill process safety standards including all related programs, practices, processes, tools, training, and communication.
Analysis of leading and lagging process safety metrics for their region
Actively participate in evaluation and assessment of the performance of the Cargill PSRM standards
10% Sustainment and Continuous Improvement of Cargill PSRM Standards
Support workstream groups in the development and improvement of the Cargill process safety control programs, practices, tools, trainings and assessments
BS degree in Engineering or related field and a minimum of 5+ years of experience working in Engineering, technical operations, project management and/or process safety management, consultation.
Proven ability to manage, lead, motivate and deliver through others (influencing skills).
Fundamental understanding of industry leading practices in process safety management
Knowledge of process safety regulations, standards, leading practices and RAGAGEPs
Demonstrated ability to lead and direct people/projects in interdisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated to be collaborative, organized and detail orientated.
Fluent in English communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency in engineering/construction applications.
Ability to understand and navigate effectively through networks and across organizational boundaries to gain support.
