In the early days of 1946 when Mitr Phol Sugar Limited Partnership was established as a small family business in Ratchaburi province, the modest sugar mill used cattle to crush the cane. The operation quickly expanded, however, into condensed syrup production to supply to white sugar mills.
It was on this firm foundation that Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation Limited was founded a decade later in 1956 to produce the white sugar that has been a company mainstay ever since, its rapid growth a reflection of an industry on the rise
Two more mills followed: Mid Siam Sugar Company Limited in Kamphaengphet province in 1973 and United Farmer & Industry Company Limited in Chaiyaphum province in 1983. Then, to keep up with growing demand, the company moved to expand production with the acquisition of a sugar mill in Khon Kaen province which it later renamed Mitr Phu Viang Sugar Company Limited, the fourth sugar mill in the group.
The cycle of the Mitr Phol Group's sugar production process begins at the primary stage with soil and seed cane selection. To yield a quality crop, the group always encourages farmers to develop their plantation management skills. The result is not only the sweetest crop, but the most abundant. After cutting, these high-quality sugarcane stalks continue to thrive and yield a whole new crop.
Local sugarcane planters supply their harvests exclusively to Mitr Phol mills. Distribution for both dometic consumption and export is overseen by our experienced market team. Today, that humble mill in Ratchaburi has grown into an integrated sugar milling operation, setting the standard for the industry with its four large fully automated and high technology mills
The prosperity enjoyed by the Mitr Phol Group are the return on its investment in the principles that have shaped its operations for a long time :
- To strive for leadership is to produce the best quality products for consumers
- To believe in the value of human dignity is to create a pleasant work environment, to provide fair employment conditions, and to give employees opportunities for growth and advancement.
- To stand tall is to produce high quality sugar and sell it at reasonable prices.
- To accept responsibility for society is to devote our company to care for the environment, to promote local development, and to consistently support public services
