Its history dated back 35 years ago when the company was established on April 11, 1973 as "NS Electronics Ltd.," a subsidiary of the national Semiconductor Corporation Group of Companies, USA - a leading manufacturer of high quality micro-electronic Semiconductors for global markets. The company name was later changed to "National Semiconductor (Bangkok) Co.," On October 17, 1980, and to " NS Electronics Bangkok (1993) Ltd.," in March 1993. Initial production began at a temporary plant on Poo Chao Samingprai Road with a workforce of only 600. To response to rising demand of ICs in the electronic industry, NSE decided to expand its production lines and capacity by building a new office and manufacturing plant on a 16-rai plot of land at 40/10 Sukhumvit 105 (Soi Lasalle), Bangna. Although in 1993 ownership of the company was transferred to Thai investors, NSE continue to ensure that its products meet exact specifications and prices and prices remain competitive. Moreover, Semiconductor Assembly Council (SAC) has certified UTAC Thai the SAC Level I in 1998. More recently, UTAC Thai has now been QS 9000 certified by DNV.
