About the role
We are looking for a talented Site Engineer to join our team at Arcadia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Bangkok and the surrounding metropolitan area. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our construction projects, taking responsibility for overseeing all technical and operational aspects of the work.
What you'll be doing
- Review and report to the Construction Manager on the contractor’s construction schedule in relation to the progress of work on site.
- Serve as Document Controller by ensuring that all site documentation is properly filed, logged, and continually updated.
- Review the contractor’s shop drawings against the design (tender) drawings to ensure compliance with the designer’s intent, and return them to the Construction Manager with comments and approvals.
- Liaise and coordinate with the designer to clarify Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Approval (RFAs) regarding discrepancies between shop drawings and tender drawings.
- Review the contractor’s material RFAs against the tender technical specifications and report to the Construction Manager on the appropriateness of the requests.
- Assist the Construction Manager with project budgeting, considering the effects of RFIs, RFAs, shop drawings, and variation orders.
- Conduct site inspections to confirm the contractor's adherence to the approved shop drawings, good working practices, and the construction schedule.
- Monitor and promote health and safety on site, recording and reporting any breaches to the Construction Manager. Stop construction work if unsafe practices are observed.
- Undertake final project snagging and prepare a list of defects for the contractor's rectification.
- Attend project and site progress meetings.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Review and approve the contractor’s 'As-Built' drawings.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience in the position of Site Engineer.
- Experience as a Site Engineer for industrial projects is essential.
- Proven experience working in multi-disciplinary construction teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, or other construction management software is advantageous.
- Good command of written and spoken English is advantageous.
- Ability to relocate to work in upcountry areas.
