Responsibilities
Job Roles & Responsibilities
1. Financial Control & Internal Governance
• Plan, supervise, and develop robust factory Internal Control systems to prevent fraud, misconduct, and errors within production and warehousing processes.
• Review and approve payments, expenditures, and Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) of the factory, ensuring compliance with budgets and the approved Authority Matrix.
2. Cost Accounting & Variance Analysis
• Oversee and manage product costing calculations, including both Standard Cost and Actual Cost, within the food manufacturing environment.
• Conduct detailed analyses of production variances, including Material Yield Loss, Labor Variance, and Overhead Variance, to identify areas of financial loss within the production lines.
• Collaborate with the Production and Quality Assurance/Control (QA/QC) teams to investigate the root causes of variances and drive Corrective Actions.
3. Inventory & Asset Management
• Control and audit inventory balances and packaging materials to ensure accuracy and alignment with the accounting system.
• Plan and participate in monthly and annual stock-taking activities, analyze stock variances, and manage provisions for deteriorated inventory (Spoilage/Expired/Slow-Moving).
4. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Reporting
• Co-develop and control the Annual Budget and Financial Forecasts for the factory operations.
• Prepare and analyze short-term and long-term Cash Flow Forecasting, while efficiently managing and balancing Corporate Working Capital to maintain optimal liquidity and support executive strategic decisions.
• Prepare monthly Management Reports for executive review, delivering thorough performance analyses against targets (Actual vs Budget).
• Provide strategic financial consultation and recommendations to executives for efficient cost management and expense control.
Qualifications
Job Specification
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a Supervisory or Management role.
• Proven background in manufacturing; experience in Food Manufacturing or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors is highly preferred.
• High level of expertise in Plant Cost Accounting and Financial Control systems.
• Proficient in global ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365) within accounting and finance modules, with a solid understanding of data flow across Production, Warehouse, and Supply Chain functions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including Data Analysis, Pivot Tables, and Financial Modeling) to efficiently handle and manipulate large volumes of data.
• Analytical Thinking : Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to look beyond reports and link numbers to operational issues on the factory floor.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management : Ability to simplify and communicate complex financial data effectively to non-finance teams, particularly production and factory operations.
• Assertiveness & Integrity : Possess strong professional integrity, decisiveness, and the confidence to stand ground and challenge anomalies when internal control discrepancies are identified.
• Resilience : Ability to perform well under pressure and manage time effectively during critical financial month-end and year-end closing periods.
