Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
- Data Analysis / Data Scientist is responsible for leading data-driven initiatives to enhance product performance, manufacturing capability, and process reliability. This role combines "advanced analytics, machine learning, statistical modeling, and manufacturing domain expertise" to uncover insights, solve complex technical problems, and enable Smart Manufacturing across Magnecomp.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze high-volume manufacturing, metrology, and product performance datasets to identify trends, correlations, and failure patterns.
- Apply statistical techniques (SPC, DOE, regression, and multivariate analysis) to support process optimization and variation reduction.
- Build predictive models (machine learning, anomaly detection) to forecast product quality, detect early drift, and optimize process parameters.
- Define new data parameters, sensors, and measurement requirements for improving process visibility.
- Integrate analytics solutions into factory systems (Database, Analysis, Dashboard platforms).
- Lead data-driven projects for product failure analysis and yield improvement.
- Provide effective data analysis with proven validation results and useful analysis to team.
- Collaborate with Design and Product Engineering Teams to evaluate model simulations, analyze test data, and propose design improvements.
- Support Process Engineering by identifying root causes of variation and defining corrective/preventive actions.
- Evaluate and deploy advanced Al/ML solutions (e.g., for visual inspection, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance).
- Partner with IT and Manufacturing Systems teams to develop automated data pipelines, databases, and dashboards.
- Provide technical leadership in cross-site (Internal and External MPT) engineering problem-solving activities.
- Prepare clear reports summarizing insights, modeling results, and recommendations for engineering and management review.
- Present complex technical findings in an understandable and actionable format to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Education Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related technical fields.
Skill Required:
- Strong expertise in data mining/exploring, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
- Proficiency in: SQL, Python, JMP / Minitab, Power BI, Grafana, KNIME, TensorFlow, Pytorch & Scikit-Learn.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Strong ownership mindset and proactive problem-solving and ability to work independently.
Experience:
- Hands-on experience in data analytics roles (2-5+ years).
- Experience integrating data with manufacturing systems (databases, automation and dashboard systems).
- Project management skills with proven cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in HDD/suspension/precision manufacturing is an advantage.
