Job Title: Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer
Location: [Chonburi, Phuket]
Department: Operations & Maintenance
Reports To: Plant Manager / O&M Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary :
The O&M Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of a waste-to-energy (WTE). This role involves monitoring plant performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing energy production while maintaining compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plant Operations & Monitoring
- Oversee daily operations of the waste power plant, ensuring optimal energy generation.
- Monitor and control plant parameters via SCADA/DCS systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
- Analyze process data to optimize performance and efficiency.
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to plan and execute maintenance shutdowns.
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and tools.
3. Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to emissions, waste handling, and pollution control.
- Follow plant safety procedures and conduct risk assessments.
- Report and address safety incidents and near misses.
- Participate in emergency response drills and plant safety programs.
4. Performance Optimization
- Analyze plant efficiency and suggest improvements in operations.
- Work on energy conservation initiatives to reduce operational costs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance plant performance and reliability.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs, reports, and records of plant operations and maintenance activities.
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, downtime, and corrective actions.
- Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance plans.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience in power plant operations, preferably in waste-to-energy, biomass, or thermal power plants.
- Experience with boilers, steam turbines, generators, and emissions control systems is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of thermal power plant processes (combustion, heat recovery, steam cycle, etc.).
- Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems for plant monitoring and control.
- Experience with maintenance planning and troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Understanding of environmental and safety regulations (e.g., emissions control, waste handling).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate with other departments.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns.
