Responsibilities
Import Operations:
- Coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure timely import shipments.
- Prepare and review import documents such as invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade agreements, and import restrictions. (Freezone Privileges).
- Work with customs brokers to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
- Monitor shipments and update relevant stakeholders on the status.
- Coordinate with Custom for shipment clearing.
Export Operations:
- Arrange shipments for international customers in compliance with export regulations.
- Prepare export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and export declarations.
- Ensuring shipments meet destination country requirements (e.g., labeling, packaging, permits).
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track and resolve any issues related to delayed or lost shipments.
General Logistics & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of import and export transactions.
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws and company policies.
- Optimize shipping methods to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
- Work closely with internal teams, including procurement, sales, and finance, to align logistics processes.
- Handle any import-export-related claims, disputes, or inspections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field.
- Experience in import-export operations, international shipping, or logistics (5 years preferred).
- Knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international trade compliance.
- Proficiency in shipping documentation and logistics management systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in [relevant software, e.g., SAP, Excel, freight tracking tools].
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping companies with FREEZONE privileges.
- Familiarity with free trade agreements, duty drawbacks, and trade compliance requirements.
- English speaking preferred.
