Responsibilities
- Promotes, protects, maintains and attains optimal care for the physical and mental health of the students
- Provides first aid for injuries and acute illness
- Initiates prompt referral to the appropriate medical facility when more extensive treatment is warranted
- Performs crisis intervention if necessary
- Administers medicine as requested by parents or as directed by physicians
- Provide health counseling for students and staffs
- Participate in establishing or revising school health policies
- Maintain a daily medical log and report on incidents and accidents as per school policy
- Establish and maintain individual health records
- Maintains stock of medicines and first aid equipment and regular stock checks
- Inputs and maintains medical records of students and provides reports for student trips and other purposes as required
- Arranges first aid equipment for students and teachers for field trips
- Clean bed, mattress and bed sheets once a week or when necessary.
- Prepare glasses, medical equipment and medical supplies every evening.
- Sterile medical equipments monthly or when necessary
- Coordinate with parents when the student needs to get any first aid medications.
- Coordinate with homeroom teachers and parents when referral is needed.
- Separate the student when contagious disease occurred and coordinate with a health promoting hospital to prevent the spreading of disease.
- Screening for infectious disease e.g. HFMD at kindergarten building every morning.
- Follow up the student via telephone when the student has contagious disease and stays at home or is hospitalized.
- Input medical event data into Renweb every evening.
- Screen medical form about student’s allergies then record in Renweb and remind homeroom teacher about those allergies.
- Coordinate with teachers and the hospital for annual health check-up.
- Coordinate and prepare documents for the accident insurance claim process.
Qualifications
● Be a qualified nurse (be registered with the Thailand Nursing Council)
● Experience in an international school will be advantage
● Have a calm and commanding nature in situations of emergency
● Enjoy working in a school environment and with children
● Service mind and can do attitude
