Product Research and Development
We are seeking a versatile Product Development Lead to spearhead our new Decorative Surface Solutions unit. This role bridges the gap between material science, creative design, and technical engineering. You will be responsible for scouting innovative materials that are "good for people and the planet" while simultaneously engineering the practical installation systems that allow these materials to be used in real-world projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Market & Trend Intelligence: Analyze global material trends and consumer behaviors to identify "Innovative Surface Solutions" that align with modern sustainability and performance standards.
- Conceptualization & Prototyping: Collaborate with management and branding teams to develop new product concepts and oversee the creation of physical prototypes.
- Performance & Technical Validation: Manage rigorous testing protocols for material durability, usage safety, and technical quality through third-party laboratories.
- The System Development: Research and standardize integrated installation solutions (hardware, adhesives, and structural supports).
- Commercial Feasibility & Reporting: Prepare R&D reports that evaluate the technical and commercial viability of new materials to ensure they meet our portfolio's tiered pricing strategy.
- The Product Master Book: Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical database containing specs and SOPs, ensuring this data is structured for integration into company software systems.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Degree in Design, Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
- Relevant Experience: 5+ years in product R&D, technical sourcing, or the architectural materials industry.
- The "Agile" Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity. You should thrive in an environment where protocols are being built in real-time and be ready to pivot as the business scales.
- Documentation Skills: Strong ability to translate complex technical information into clear, organized, and professional documentation.
- Integrated Thinking: Ability to look beyond just the "surface" to understand the mechanical and structural requirements of a complete installation.
