Responsibilities
Purpose of the role
The purpose of the Driver Officer role is to ensure the safe, timely, and professional transportation of students, staff, and school visitors in accordance with school policies and relevant traffic regulations. The Driver Officer is responsible for maintaining a high standard of vehicle care, following all safety protocols, and providing courteous service at all times. This role plays a critical part in supporting school operations and ensuring a safe travel environment for the entire school community.
Responsibilities
1. Be on time at school as per working hour scheduled for each driver.
2. Be appropriately attired and always be in school uniforms during on duty.
3. Often check the cleanliness of the school bus.
4. Always do basic checking for school bus i.e. fuel, water, air conditioning, tyres, etc. to ensure that they work properly before releasing the buses.
5. Any other duties as requested by the Line Manager.
If abnormalities are found, they must be considered. and follow these steps:
• Report to the supervisor as soon as possible.
• If there is something wrong which may lead to life and property. Absolutely do not take the car out until permission from the supervisor or has been inspected by a qualified mechanic first.
6. Must take care of the car to be inspected strictly according to the distance that the center has specified in the manual.
7. Must inform the responsible vehicle registration time before the expiration time to the supervisor at least 1 month in advance. If there is no notification and the car is fined driver and the direct supervisor must be jointly responsible for the actual
8. For pick up or sending passengers and students for any school activities, please follow:
• Arriving at the meeting point 10 minutes before schedule.
• If drivers miss passengers or students at meeting point, they have to report Head before
• leaving the place and write the problem in the driver working form.
• If any other person than those who are listed on the request from request to go with the bus, driver has to report to Head of Transport and ask for approval before leaving.
• Be polite to offer help to passengers and/or students
• Open and close the door for passengers and/or students.
9. Drivers have to check through the bus together with security after finishing duty. If any belongings are found, drivers must:
• Return the belongings to passengers and/or students immediately.
• Return the belongings to Lost and Found Section or directly report to Head if the drivers cannot identify the owner of the left belongings.
10. No alcohol drinking during on duty, if found, those will be expelled
11. No smoking on the bus, if found, those will be given written warning.
12. Seat belts should be worn by drivers and all passengers. If passengers deny to wear safety belt, do not leave unless passengers follow.
13. Drivers should never use a mobile phone without hand-free equipment while driving.
14. Drivers should not exceed the speed limit (90Km/hour) and must strictly follow the traffic rules.
15. Extra care should be taken when approaching traffic lights. Drivers should slow down as they approach the lights and be ready to stop if the lights change rather than driving on quickly. If driving through traffic lights is reported, the drives will be expelled.
The penalty to drivers who break the rules and regulations
1. Minimum penalty: Verbal warning and no salary increase for that particular year.
2. Medium penalty: Written warning, no salary increase and no evaluation for annual bonus for that particular year.
3. Maximum penalty: Being expelled
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION
- Possession of a valid Thai driver’s license for the appropriate vehicle type.
- At least 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a school or service-related environment.
- Good knowledge of local traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge is an advantage

-Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with students, staff, and parents.
-Capable of handling unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
-Basic written Thai literacy (for completing daily reports or forms).

-Honest and trustworthy with high ethical standards.
-Physically fit and mentally alert.
-Reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety.
-Ability to follow instructions and school procedures consistently.
