Purpose of the role

The operations director has responsibility for ensuring that non-academic departments fully support the school in achieving its mission and values.
Responsible for:
● Non-academic Departments: Leading and coordinating the activities of non-academic departments including BDE, CIS and Housekeeping, HR, IT, Procurement & Contracts, Service incl Refectory, Transport, Nurses and Security, Building and Grounds incl Janitors, and Gardening, ensuring all work cooperatively, and are cost effective and efficient.
● Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and standards expected by the Thai authorities and the school’s accreditation bodies such as but no limited to -School Charter, Company Registration, Share Registrar, Shareholders, OPEC, Phuket Education Office, Board of Governors, Boarding House Licences etc
● Health and Safety: Chairing the school’s Health and Safety Committee
● Procurement: Managing procurement team and related policies/procedures
● Events: Supporting the organisation and administration of special events at the school
● Development Projects: Oversight and project management of all significant development projects
● Site and Grounds Maintenance: Meet regularly with the Building & Grounds team to ensure the school site is maintained to a high standard and work is prioritised accordingly
● Policies: The development and maintenance of a comprehensive set of non-academic policies that are up to date and transparently implemented
● Business: Enhance and develop revenue streams that compliment and enhance the school’s excellent academic reputation
● Assist and support the Head of School and group COO as requested, and regularly meeting individually and collective with the Senior Leadership Team, Managers, CFO and CEO if required
● Other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Group COO
Miscellaneous Tasks Include but are not limited to :
● Approve UOB Payment Transfer / Cheque as being the Authorized by the School
● Admin School for the Single Sign-on System. Online system of The office of Private Education Commission [Ministry of Education]
● Liaise with legal team as requested by Head of School and Group COO
● Set up Expeni Program (Procurement system)
● Being the Power Attorney for the school to sign any documents
Working time and Holidays:
● Whilst entitled to the standard number of non-academic vacation days, it is anticipated that the operations director will not take significant amounts of vacation during school holidays to ensure their presence to monitor the maintenance work undertaken during those periods.
● This role will require periodic presence in the school outside of normal working hours including at weekends. The operations director will need to be flexible in their working schedule to facilitate this without impacting their routine activities
