Responsibilities
1. Operational & Functional Excellence
- Standardize and streamline Customs processes across APAC entities
- Develop process documentation, workflow mapping, and SOPs
- Lead regional implementation of unified Customs procedures
- Deliver training programs to local Customs teams
- Monitor daily operations and evaluate Customs broker performance
- Provide guidance to improve efficiency, service quality, and productivity
2. Strategy & Business Impact
- Monitor and interpret Customs laws, regulations, and trade policies in APAC
- Communicate regulatory updates and business implications to stakeholders
- Analyze opportunities and risks from Customs & Foreign Trade regulations
- Develop action plans, roadmaps, and presentations
- Support APAC entities in executing initiatives to capture financial and regulatory benefits
3. Compliance & Risk Management
- Conduct regular reviews and gap analysis of Customs operations
- Ensure full compliance with Customs and Foreign Trade regulations
- Implement corrective actions in response to regulatory changes
- Safeguard company interests through proactive compliance measures
4. Audit Coordination & Support
- Support internal and external Customs audits
- Act as the key coordinator between auditors and APAC entities
- Ensure accurate, timely communication during audits
- Lead and monitor corrective actions from audit findings
5. Project Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify improvement opportunities and develop business cases
- Lead initiatives such as system harmonization and trade analytics tools
- Drive data-driven decision-making and operational transparency
- Manage regional projects, track progress, and report outcomes
- Coordinate with stakeholders and deliver training for successful implementation
6. Communication & Regional Collaboration
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across APAC
- Organize workshops and cross-country collaboration sessions
- Identify synergies to improve regional alignment and efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Informatics, or related fields
- (e.g., International Business Law, Business Informatics)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Customs & Foreign Trade
- Strong understanding of Supply Chain & Logistics processes
- Knowledge of Taxation and Excise fundamentals
- Hands-on experience in Customs operations and broker management
- Basic understanding of Finance and reporting principles
