Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities
Design Transfer & Engineering (R&D Interface)
• Act as the primary technical interface with the SHARK R&D team starting from the Conceptual Design phase to translate design intent into manufacturable products.
• Lead Feasibility Studies to identify production constraints and cost-reduction opportunities during the early design stages.
• Perform comprehensive design reviews using DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Utilize CATIA for in-depth analysis and validation of 3D models (Draft analysis, Thickness, Undercut) and technical engineering drawings.
1. End-to-End Project Management (NPI)
• Lead and manage New Model projects from initial design input through to Mass Production.
• Define project timelines, milestones, and the NPI (New Product Introduction) execution plan.
• Proactively monitor progress, conduct risk assessments, and drive decision-making to ensure no impact on the SOP (Start of Production).
2. Supplier & Tooling Coordination
• Coordinate with suppliers for the development of Molds, Jigs, and Fixtures.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities regarding technical proficiency, cost efficiency, and lead times to align with project requirements.
• Monitor tooling progress, manage sample production, and ensure technical alignment with design specifications.
3. Component & Process Development
• Oversee the development of all helmet components, including the Shell, EPS, Visor, Plastic Parts, and other critical assemblies.
• Verify Compatibility and Fit & Function across all components at a System Level to ensure seamless integration.
4. Trial, Validation & Problem Solving
• Plan and execute Prototype builds and production Trial Runs.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for assembly or engineering issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Ensure products meet international safety standards, including ECE 22.06, DOT, FIM #2, GB, INM, and other relevant certifications.
5. Production Readiness & Documentation
• Manage the formal Handover and transition to the mass production line.
• Develop and maintain accurate BOM (Bill of Materials), Work Instructions, and Assembly Guidelines.
• Support production line setup, operator training, and ramp-up activities during the initial launch phase.
Qualifications
PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in New Model development, Product Development, or Industrialization. (Experience in the automotive or motorcycle helmet industry is a significant advantage).
Technical Skills:
• Proficient in CATIA (3D Modeling & Drawing Interpretation).
• Deep understanding of Injection Molding, Composite Materials, Painting, and Assembly processes.
• Knowledge of APQP / PPAP methodologies is highly preferred.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent English communication skills (required for collaborating with international R&D teams and global suppliers).
• Strong problem-solving skills with a high sense of Ownership and Accountability.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and within tight constraints.
