The Medical Assistant supports psychiatrists and the multidisciplinary mental health team in delivering safe, compassionate, and effective psychiatric care. The role focuses on assisting in clinical services, patient monitoring, documentation, and coordination of care while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and patient confidentiality.

🔹 Job Description: 

1. Assist psychiatrists in providing psychiatric care to patients under supervision, including outpatient and inpatient settings.

2. Support patient assessments by collecting medical histories, vital signs, mental status observations, and relevant clinical information.

3. Assist during psychiatric consultations, therapeutic procedures, and clinical examinations as assigned.

4. Prepare examination rooms, medical equipment, and documentation required for psychiatric services.

5. Observe and monitor patients’ behavior, emotional status, and treatment responses, and promptly report concerns to psychiatrists or nursing staff.

6. Document clinical information, treatment progress, and patient interactions accurately in medical records.

7. Coordinate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.

8. Support patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, and hospital procedures under medical guidance.

9. Ensure compliance with hospital regulations, patient safety standards, mental health laws, and data privacy requirements (e.g., PDPA).

10. Assist with administrative and clinical support tasks related to psychiatric services as assigned.

🔹 Qualification: 

1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, or a related healthcare field.

2. Experience in a psychiatric hospital, mental health clinic, or healthcare setting is highly preferred.

3. Basic knowledge of psychiatric disorders, mental health care processes, and patient safety principles.

4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and sensitivity toward patients with mental health conditions.

5. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary mental health team.

6. High level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and strict adherence to patient confidentiality.

7. Good command of Thai language; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
