Responsibilities

Role Summary:

The Technical Supervisor / Senior Technical Operator will be supporting Technical Manager, Quality Manager and Production Manager in introduction of new materials, products and/or production processes ensuring that material properties of final product are within specification. The technical team is a key advisor to Quality and Production related to material properties and support in both new developments and problem solving.

The role includes maintaining systems up-to-date, including all Bill of Materials and support engineering in calibration. The workings and condition of production assets such as press plates are within the scope for the Technical Supervisor/ Senior Technical Operator.

This position requires a structured, methodical professional with strong technical understanding of chemistry-driven processes and industrial production systems.

Key responsibilities

1. Production & Process Control

a. Ensure strict adherence to process parameters.

b. Support Quality department in monitoring and controlling product quality during any production stage.

c. Escalate and troubleshoot deviations using structured root cause methods.

2. Quality & Structural Improvement

a. Apply Six Sigma / DMAIC methodology to reduce defects and improve yield.

i. Or other relevant methodologies

b. Lead improvement projects focused on:

i. Scrap reduction

ii. Cycle time optimization

iii. Resin utilization efficiency

iv. Preventive quality control

c. Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.

d. Support audits and internal quality reviews.

3. Technical & Chemical Process Oversight

a. Monitor resin systems (phenolic and melamine resins) and curing behavior.

b. Ensure correct paper impregnation quality and moisture control.

c. Work closely with technical, laboratory, and maintenance teams.

d. Support or lead trials for new materials or process improvements.

4. Preventive Maintenance & Reliability

a. Ensure correct daily equipment inspections.

b. Identify early signs of mechanical or process instability.

c. Support planned maintenance activities.

d. Promote a preventive rather than reactive mindset.

5. Leadership & Safety

a. Promote a “Safety First” culture prioritizing quality and efficiency over output volume.

b. Ensure compliance with EHS standards.

c. Coach team members in disciplined work practices and structured problem solving.

Qualifications

 Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related technical field

 Preferably 3 or more years of experience from industrial manufacturing practice.

o Resin-based or thermoset production processes

 Certified in 6-sigma methodology, preferably green belt or higher

Personal attributes

 Solid command of both Thai and English language.

 Hands-on attitude.

 Structured and analytical thinker driven by data.

 High integrity.
