1. Design and develop electrical systems for ships, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems
2. Specify and select electrical equipment suitable for marine environments
3. Ensure designs comply with relevant marine electrical standards such as IEC 60092, SOLAS, and IMO regulations
4. Prepare detailed electrical drawings and technical documentation using software like AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN
5. Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and systems engineers to integrate electrical systems with overall ship design
6. Conduct technical reviews and provide support during ship construction and commissioning phases
7. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues in marine environments

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
2. Proven experience in electrical design for marine vessels or shipbuilding industry
3. Strong knowledge of marine electrical standards and regulations
4. Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools
5. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
6. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
7. Experience with marine communication and navigation systems
8. Familiarity with classification society requirements (e.g., DNV GL, ABS)
