Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development of household insecticide products, including mosquito coils, aerosol sprays, liquid vaporizers, electric mosquito mats, baits, repellents, and other pest control products.
- Develop new product formulas and improve existing formulas to meet product performance, safety, quality, cost, and regulatory requirements.
- Study active ingredients, solvents, fragrances, carriers, synergists, stabilizers, propellants, and other formulation components used in insecticide products.
- Conduct laboratory trials, formula screening, product testing, stability testing, compatibility testing, and performance evaluation.
- Support product development from concept stage through lab trial, pilot trial, scale-up, production trial, and commercial launch.
- Evaluate product efficacy against target insects such as mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, ants, or other household pests, in line with internal testing methods and applicable standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Production, Procurement, and Packaging Development to ensure product feasibility and launch readiness.
- Analyze test results, product performance, stability data, and formulation issues to identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare technical reports, formulation records, test summaries, product specifications, and development documentation.
- Support troubleshooting of product issues related to formula stability, efficacy, odor, appearance, evaporation rate, spray pattern, combustion performance, leakage, sedimentation, or packaging compatibility.
- Research market trends, competitor products, new technologies, active ingredients, formulation platforms, and regulatory changes related to insecticide and pest control products.
- Coordinate with external laboratories, suppliers, universities, government agencies, or technical partners for testing, raw material evaluation, and technical studies.
- Support regulatory registration by preparing technical data, product information, ingredient details, test results, and supporting documents as required.
- Ensure all R&D activities comply with safety requirements, chemical handling practices, internal procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Entomology, Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemical Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in R&D, formulation, product development, laboratory research, insecticide products, pest control products, household chemicals, agrochemical, or related industries.
- Experience in household insecticide, pest control, biocide, agrochemical, household chemical, aerosol, liquid formulation, or consumer chemical products will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of insecticide active ingredients, formulation principles, product efficacy, stability, compatibility, and chemical safety.
- Basic understanding of insect biology, insect behavior, pest control mechanisms, or efficacy testing methods is preferred.
- Able to conduct laboratory experiments, record results, analyze data, and prepare technical reports accurately.
- Familiar with product development processes such as lab trial, pilot trial, scale-up, production trial, and commercialization.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to insecticide, hazardous substances, product registration, labeling, or chemical control will be an advantage.
- Good analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and scientific discipline.
- Able to work with chemicals safely and follow laboratory safety procedures.
- Good coordination skills with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Good command of English, especially for reading technical documents, supplier information, research papers, and regulatory documents.
