Responsibilities
- Handle full import operations for sea freight shipments (FCL/LCL) from overseas suppliers to warehouse delivery
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers to ensure smooth import processes
- Prepare, review, and verify import documents including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading (B/L), Certificate of Origin, and import permits
- Monitor vessel schedules, shipment status, ETA, and customs clearance processes
- Coordinate customs clearance and ensure compliance with import regulations for industrial chemicals and food ingredients
- Follow up on shipping schedules, container movements, and delivery timelines to avoid delays and additional charges
- Verify import costs, freight charges, duty, and related expenses
- Maintain accurate import records and filing systems
- Communicate with overseas suppliers regarding shipping arrangements and documentation requirement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Business, Supply Chain, or related fields
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in import operations, especially ocean freight/import shipping
- Experience in industrial chemicals, food ingredients, or related industries is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of sea import procedures, customs clearance, and shipping documentation
- Familiar with freight forwarding, shipping lines, and INCOTERMS
- Good command of English for email communication and coordination with overseas suppliers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detail-oriented, able to work under pressure, and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
