Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
- Perform all Tooling Design, simulation, and analysis activities within the Tool Design department in coordination with the superior to ensure all design commitments and requirements meet or exceed departmental objectives and are executed smoothly. Deliver accurate and optimal designs for tooling, metrology, and handling fixtures. Ensure accuracy and reliability of simulation models through rigorous testing and validation, while continuously improving simulation systems. Actively participate in tool design and development activities to provide effective and functional tooling solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive job and work instruction from immediate superior and execute to meet requirements.
- Participate in conceptual and final design reviews and development activities.
- Ensure 100% manufacturability, quality, and accuracy of drawings within established lead times.
- Ensure quality tooling design using simulation and analysis; recommend design improvements based
- on simulation results.
- Organize and maintain a backup system for all existing drawings.
- Actively participate in tool fabrication, debugging, and failure analysis (FA) processes.
- Provide timely updates and feedback to the superior on all design and development activities.
- Initiate improvement plans and projects for tools, fixtures, simulation, and analysis.
- Stay updated on technical knowledge in design software and all types of tooling and fixtures.
- Maintain work area safety and discipline.
- Keep records of all design jobs and tool history files for future reference.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in the section and other related departments.
- Perform other duties and assume accountabilities as delegated, including mutually agreed objectives.
Qualifications
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial engineering, or Post Diploma in Tool design.
Skill Required:
- Tooling Design Expertise: Strong experience in tooling design with comprehensive knowledge of design-related activities, including precision engineering and tolerance analysis.
- Simulation & Analysis: Experience and knowledge in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) & flow Analysis
- Proficiency in simulation and analysis software:
- o SolidWorks Simulation Professional or Ansys (or similar tools) for structural analysis.
- o SolidWorks Flow Simulation or equivalent for fluid dynamics and thermal analysis.
- Design Software Proficiency: Skill in SolidWorks & PDM, Creo & Windchill, AutoCAD
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of Tool manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and quality assurance. Ability to design for manufacturability and cost optimization.
- Communication & Leadership: Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Leadership capabilities in managing projects and guiding teams.
Language Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English for global communication.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years for bachelor’s degree holders.
Minimum 3 years for Post diploma / diploma holders.
