Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Materials Research & Development: Lead the selection and development of advanced materials (Engineering Plastics/Polymers) to meet OEM requirements, balancing performance, cost, and processability.
- Design & Validation: Execute Design of Experiments (DOE) and lead material validation processes to ensure all components meet international (ASTM, ISO, JIS) and OEM specifications.
- Failure Analysis & Quality: Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) on material defects, providing data-driven technical solutions to minimize scrap and enhance product reliability.
- International Communication: Serve as the main technical contact for global clients and suppliers. Present research findings, technical reports, and project updates in professional English.
- Documentation Excellence: Manage material-related documentation for APQP and PPAP, ensuring seamless compliance with IATF 16949 standards.
- Project & Team Leadership: Oversee R&D projects within budget and timelines. Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical precision and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related fields.
- 5–7+ years of experience in R&D or Materials Engineering within the Automotive Parts Industry.
- Strong expertise in material characterization techniques and data analysis software.
- Excellent English proficiency (TOEIC 850+ or equivalent); capable of negotiating and presenting complex technical concepts to international stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of automotive quality systems (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP).
- Proactive, analytical, and results-oriented mindset.
