Position: Clinical Trials Assistant

Description
Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU), based in Bangkok, Thailand, is looking for a clinical trials assistant (CTA) to support the work of the Clinical Trials Support Group (CTSG) across a range of projects. The job will be for 1 year in the first instance with opportunities for renewal depending on quality of work and productivity in the role.
The MORU CTSG works in close collaboration with investigators, other departments and units across the MORU network, and a broad range of other collaborators. The candidate will contribute to projects including clinical trials and observational studies. They will work closely with the study investigators and team members which may include MORU project coordinators, other functional CTSG staff, and site team members across Southeast Asian or other study sites.

TASKS
• Provide clinical operations support and management, for one or multiple projects contracted to CTSG. Daily work will include:
1. Management of essential study documents for study and investigator oversight, from project initiation through closeout
2. Oversight of applications to regulatory authorities and ethics committees, including ongoing correspondence and amendments through conclusion of project
3. Management of study operations, site activation checklist, including coordination of project milestones, teleconferences and status tracking with MORU investigators and senior CTSG staff
4. Support set up and maintenance of the Trial Master Files (TMF) and/or electronic filing systems/ set up of the Investigator Site File (ISF)
5. Assist in review of the protocols, information sheets, consent forms and other associated documents related to the research projects assigned
6. Coordinate logistical support for trial conduct, e.g., consumables orders or drug import paperwork (Thai FDA)
7. Support processing and tracking of study safety notifications to CTSG
• Ensure development of appropriate study-specific procedures and documentation to support research conduct within MORU network
• Generate reports for project teams and management as required
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA


• A relevant degree e.g. nursing, medicine, or other health-related field
• 1-2 years experience working in a clinical research environment
• Good written and spoken ability in both English and Thai
• Ability to communicate and work well with multinational teams
• Good attention to detail
• Strong IT skills, e.g., ability to use MS Word, Excel, Power Point and study databases proficiently

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Strong organisational and problem solving skills
• Experience with international and Thai clinical research standards and regulations
• Knowledge of general hospital, ethics committee and laboratory infrastructure
• Demonstrated responsibility to organize work independently and multitask

Terms & conditions

The post is based in Bangkok at the Mahidol Oxford Research unit (https://www.tropmedres.ac/).
The salary will be based on MORU scales and will depend on experience and qualifications.
