Responsibilities
- Contract Management & Drafting:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements in English and Thai, including Joint Venture Agreements (JV), Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), EPC Contracts, Concession Agreements, and Loan/Credit Agreements with financial institutions.
- Legal Advisory:
- Provide strategic legal counsel to senior executive management and operational departments regarding corporate law, foreign investment regulations, labor laws, and tax implications related to business operations in Lao PDR and internationally.
- Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure full compliance of AIDC Group’s operations with local laws, corporate governance standards, and international regulations.
- External Counsel & Government Relations:
- Collaborate with and manage external legal firms in Thailand, Lao PDR, and internationally for complex transactions, litigations, or specialized legal matters.
- Risk Mitigation & Dispute Resolution:
- Conduct risk assessments for new project developments, propose legal risk mitigation strategies, and manage dispute resolution processes, mediation, or arbitration as necessary.
Qualifications
- Nationality: Thai National (Willing to relocate to Vientiane, Lao PDR).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Law (LL.B. / LL.M.). (A Thai Attorney License or Lawyer License is preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in corporate legal (In-house) or reputable law firms.
- Direct experience in infrastructure, construction, renewable energy, cross-border investment, or international trading.
- Language Proficiency:
- English: Excellent command of business & legal English (Contract Drafting, Negotiation, and High-level Business Communication).
- Competencies:
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
