Responsibilities
Role Overview: Shape the film’s overarching artistic vision, emotional performances, and visual language. Guide multi-disciplinary teams and select optimal generated takes to deliver a cohesive, narrative-driven final film.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write comprehensive directing briefs and map out key emotional beats, establishing what viewers should learn, feel, and experience in every scene.
- Establish visual grammar, camera language (angles, lens choice, movements), and aesthetic pacing from pre-production through final post-production.
- Review generated takes daily with visual, video, sound, and editorial teams, providing precise, actionable, and iterative feedback.
- Make authoritative decisions on shot selection, performance nuances, and AI re-generation requests to preserve artistic intent without compromising production timelines.
- Collaborate closely with Screenwriters, Art Directors, and Editors to adapt narrative beats dynamically based on generative video possibilities and constraints.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in film direction, narrative storytelling, creative direction, or visual media production.
- Film & Storytelling Mastery: Exceptional understanding of cinematic composition, dramatic structure, lighting, actor blocking, and editorial pacing.
- AI & Technical Literacy: Hands-on familiarity with modern AI media pipelines (Midjourney, Runway, Seedance, Higgsfield, ComfyUI) and deep awareness of their creative constraints.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding leadership, executive decision-making, and cross-functional communication skills to direct multi-disciplinary creative teams.
- Submission: 1–3 strong pieces (scene cuts, showreels, or directing packages) with explicit breakdown of contributions.
