Responsibilities
- Inspect mechanical and electrical systems to identify faults and equipment deficiencies.
- Diagnose diesel engines, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, transmissions, steering systems, braking systems, and associated equipment.
- Utilize diagnostic software, electronic testing equipment, and conventional mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Analyze equipment performance and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Execute engine overhauls, transmission repairs, pump rebuilds, bearing replacement, seal replacement, and mechanical alignment.
- Repair fuel injection systems, turbochargers, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and engine electronic controls.
- Service hydraulic systems and mechanical drive components.
- Conduct pump performance testing, flow testing, and pressure testing.
- Adjust pump controls and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to maximize equipment performance and energy efficiency.
- Conduct field repairs and emergency breakdown response as required.
- Perform functional testing following maintenance or repair.
- Operate equipment to verify performance and reliability.
- Complete Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities where required.
- Ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
- Mobilize to customer sites, offshore facilities, and industrial locations to carry out inspections, maintenance, repairs, and commissioning.
- Support equipment installation, rig-up, rig-down, and operational troubleshooting.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients during maintenance activities.
- Complete maintenance reports, inspection reports, service records, and work orders.
- Record equipment history, repair details, test results, and parts replaced.
- Maintain accurate documentation for quality assurance and equipment traceability.
- Assist in managing spare parts inventory and workshop tooling.
- Follow all company HSE policies and safe work procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and environmental regulations.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop and worksite.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Solid understanding of diesel engines, rotating equipment, hydraulics, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and service documentation.
- Familiarity with mechanical measuring equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently under pressure.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of ATEX Ratings (Safety, Zones, and Device Standards for Explosive Atmospheres) is a plus.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience with offshore maintenance and field service.
- Experience with Caterpillar and Cummins engines.
- Experience with high-pressure pumping equipment.
- Experience with compressors and rotating equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Basic electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting skills are desirable.
