Responsibilities

  1. Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
  2. Monitor database performance and implement tuning measures to ensure optimal performance.
  3. Perform regular backups, recovery testing, and ensure data integrity and security.
  4. Design and maintain database structures, tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
  5. Support application development teams with database-related requirements and performance optimization.
  6. Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis.
  7. Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
  8. Collaborate with developers and technical leads to design system architecture and workflows.
  9. Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of business needs.
  10. Create and manage test scenarios, test cases, and UAT scripts; support users during UAT.
  11. Participate in system implementation, go-live support, and post-implementation reviews.
  12. Provide training and prepare user manuals or operational guides.
  13. Gather and analyze business and user requirements from stakeholders and translate them into detailed system specifications.
  14. Prepare comprehensive documentation including:
    1. Business Requirement Document (BRD)
    2. Software Requirement Specification (SRS)
    3. Functional Specification Documents
    4. System Design Documents
    5. Entity-Relationship (ER) Diagrams
    6. Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, and Flowcharts

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in system analysis and database administration.
  3. Strong knowledge of system design methodologies and documentation standards (e.g., SRS, ERD, UML).
  4. Strong in database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
  5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills and team player.
  6. Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Visio, Draw.io, and database management tools.
  7. Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  9. Experience in enterprise-level applications is an advantage.
  10. Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
