About the Role

Our client, a leading international technology company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to oversee product engineering, manufacturing transfer, and production scale-up for advanced technology products.

The successful candidate will play a key role in connecting international engineering teams with the local Thailand operation and manufacturing partners, ensuring smooth product transfer, production efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

·        Lead engineering activities from product development and design transfer through mass production.

·        Manage manufacturing transfer and new product introduction (NPI), including pilot production, process validation, and production readiness.

·        Lead and develop the local engineering team while coordinating closely with international engineering teams and local suppliers.

·        Drive design improvement, process optimization, yield improvement, and root-cause analysis.

·        Evaluate and manage technical capabilities and performance of manufacturing partners and suppliers.

·        Monitor key manufacturing performance indicators, including production yield, quality, efficiency, and cycle time.

·        Manage engineering documentation, product specifications, material information, and engineering changes.

·        Lead technical problem-solving related to product performance, manufacturing processes, quality, and reliability.

·        Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as FMEA, RCA, and continuous improvement.

·        Collaborate effectively with international teams across Asia, Europe, and other global locations, with occasional international travel.

·        Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optoelectronics, or a related field.

·        7+ years of engineering experience in photonics, optoelectronics, electro-optics, semiconductor optics, laser systems, or advanced sensors.

·        Strong technical expertise in optoelectronics, optical/electronic systems, precision engineering, or advanced technology products.

·        At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing transfer, NPI, or production scale-up.

·        Proven experience working with external manufacturing partners and suppliers.

·        Strong knowledge of DFM, NPI, FMEA, RCA, yield improvement, quality, and manufacturing processes.

·        Experience leading engineering teams and working with international R&D and manufacturing organizations.

·        Thai language proficiency and familiarity with Thai business culture and working practices are essential, particularly when working with local suppliers and manufacturing partners.

·        Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

·        Willingness to travel internationally and work across different time zones.
