Responsibilities
Position Purpose:
The Manager - Domestics Transportation is responsible for leading daily domestic transportation operations, ensuring reliable shipment execution, strong service performance, cost control, operational compliance, and customer satisfaction. The role manages trucking operations, vendor and fleet performance, shipment monitoring, issue resolution, SOP compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across domestic FTL, dedicated fleet, shuttle, white glove, store transfer, home delivery, and customer-specific transport solutions.
This position acts as a key operational leader between customers, internal stakeholders, transport vendors, drivers, control tower, finance, commercial teams, and management to ensure smooth execution, high service quality, and strong operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Domestic Transportation Operations
- Manage daily domestic transportation activities, including FTL, shuttle, dedicated fleet, white glove delivery, store transfer, home delivery, special delivery, and customer-specific transport requirements.
- Ensure shipments are planned, executed, monitored, and completed according to customer requirements, agreed SOP, service level, and delivery timeline.
- Supervise transport planning, vehicle assignment, driver coordination, pickup, delivery, POD return, milestone update, and shipment closure.
- Ensure daily operational readiness, including manpower, fleet availability, route planning, vehicle condition, equipment readiness, and contingency arrangement.
- Monitor daily service performance and quickly resolve delays, complaints, incidents, failed deliveries, service failures, and operational escalations.
2. Customer Management & Service Excellence
- Act as a key operational contact point for customer communication, service updates, issue handling, and performance discussion.
- Ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and translated into SOP, work instruction, operation flow, checklist, escalation matrix, and daily execution plan.
- Support new customer implementation, onboarding, pilot run, go-live, hypercare, stabilization, and continuous service improvement.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication, professional reporting, practical solutions, and timely escalation.
- Support MBR/QBR preparation, KPI reporting, root cause analysis, corrective action plan, and improvement updates.
3. Vendor, Fleet & Driver Management
- Manage transport vendors, subcontractors, dedicated fleet, drivers, and manpower providers to ensure service quality, safety, security, and compliance.
- Monitor vendor and driver performance in terms of punctuality, delivery quality, vehicle condition, driver behavior, POD accuracy, cost control, and incident handling.
- Coordinate vendor capacity planning to support daily operations, peak volume, urgent requests, weekend operations, and business expansion.
- Ensure drivers and vendors follow DSV requirements, customer SOP, safety standards, security procedures, uniform requirements, and service protocols.
- Conduct vendor performance reviews and drive corrective actions when service gaps or repeated failures occur.
4. KPI, Cost & Performance Management
- Monitor key operational KPIs, including on-time pickup, on-time delivery, POD return, shipment completion, failed delivery, customer complaint, incident rate, vehicle utilization, and cost performance.
- Analyze operational gaps, cost leakage, productivity issues, process bottlenecks, and service failures.
- Drive improvement actions to improve efficiency, reduce avoidable cost, improve fleet utilization, and strengthen service quality.
- Support billing accuracy, cost verification, vendor cost control, selling-rate validation, and profit improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with finance and commercial teams to ensure correct cost allocation, charge validation, and margin protection.
5. SOP, Compliance & Quality Control
- Develop, review, and maintain SOP, work instruction, operation flow, checklist, control points, escalation matrix, and customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure team members, drivers, vendors, and subcontractors comply with DSV policy, customer requirements, QMS, safety standards, security requirements, and operational procedures.
- Support internal audit, customer audit, incident investigation, CAPA preparation, preventive action, and service recovery plan.
- Ensure shipment data, POD, booking records, delivery evidence, cost documents, and operational files are properly maintained, accurate, and traceable.
- Promote a strong control culture with clear ownership, proper handover, timely escalation, and disciplined follow-up.
6. Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the domestic transportation operation team to achieve strong execution discipline and customer service performance.
- Assign tasks, monitor workload, guide problem-solving, and ensure clear accountability within the team.
- Build a responsive, disciplined, customer-focused, and solution-oriented operation team.
- Promote teamwork across customer service, control tower, warehouse, customs, finance, commercial, vendors, and management.
- Support manpower planning, resource optimization, training, performance review, and team capability improvement.
7. Continuous Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work, improve visibility, and increase operational productivity.
- Support lean process improvement, automation initiatives, dashboard development, milestone tracking, and digital reporting.
- Drive standardization of daily operation process, reporting format, escalation flow, and performance monitoring.
- Support management in business expansion, operational transformation, productivity improvement, and service model development.
Qualifications
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in domestic transportation, trucking, logistics operations, 3PL, freight forwarding, or supply chain management.
- Minimum 2-3 years of people management or supervisory experience.
- Strong experience in FTL, domestic trucking, dedicated fleet, shuttle operation, white glove delivery, home delivery, retail delivery, healthcare delivery, or customer-specific transport solutions.
- Good understanding of transport planning, fleet management, vendor management, driver management, POD control, KPI management, cost control, and service recovery.
- Experience in customer implementation, SOP preparation, operation flow design, performance reporting, and issue escalation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Able to work under pressure, manage urgent issues, and make decisions in a fast-moving operation environment.
- Good command of English and Thai, both written and spoken.
- Good computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, transport systems, GPS tracking, and reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multinational logistics company, 3PL environment, or large-scale transport operation.
- Experience managing premium customer operations, high-value cargo, white glove service, retail delivery, healthcare delivery, dedicated fleet, or EV fleet operation.
- Knowledge of QMS, ISO, GDP, safety compliance, transport audit, risk assessment, incident reporting, and CAPA process.
- Experience with TMS, GPS tracking, digital dashboard, automation tools, and milestone visibility management.
