Responsibilities
- Welcome and register school groups upon arrival.
- Coordinate admission and entry procedures for educational groups.
- Ensure group visits adhere to scheduled itineraries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for teachers, tour leaders, and group coordinators during visits.
- Provide directions, information, and assistance to group guests throughout the attraction.
- Monitor group movements to ensure a smooth and enjoyable guest experience.
- Assist with crowd control and group management during peak operating periods.
- Deliver educational presentations, talks, and guided tours to students and teachers.
- Facilitate interactive learning activities that align with SEA LIFE & Madame Tussauds educational objectives.
- Promote awareness of marine conservation, biodiversity, and environmental responsibility.
- Adapt presentation styles and communication methods according to visitor age groups.
- Encourage active participation and engagement from students during educational sessions.
- Maintain a professional and enthusiastic approach when interacting with guests.
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service in line with Merlin Entertainments, SEA LIFE, and Madame Tussauds standards.
- Respond professionally to guest inquiries, feedback, and requests.
- Resolve guest concerns efficiently and escalate issues when required.
- Maintain a positive, friendly, and approachable attitude at all times.
- Build strong relationships with visiting teachers, schools, and education partners.
- Support initiatives designed to improve guest satisfaction and educational experiences.
- Prepare educational materials, presentation equipment, and activity resources before programs commence.
- Ensure all activity areas and educational spaces are clean, safe, and presentation-ready.
- Assist with daily operational requirements as assigned by the Operations Lead.
- Support special events, holiday programs, promotional activities, and educational campaigns.
- Liaise with Admissions, Guest Experience, Commercial, and Animal Care teams to ensure smooth operation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of marine animals, habitats, conservation programs, and educational content.
- Participate in training programs and staff development activities.
- Continuously improve presentation, communication, and guest engagement skills.
- Share best practices and knowledge with colleagues when appropriate.
- Follow all Merlin Entertainments Health, Safety, and Security policies.
- Ensure activities are conducted in a safe manner for guests and colleagues.
- Report hazards, accidents, incidents, and near misses in accordance with company procedures.
- Participate in emergency response training and evacuation drills.
- Assist in emergency situations as assigned within Emergency Operations procedures.
- Support safe working practices and contribute to a strong safety culture across the attraction.
- Ensure safeguarding standards are maintained when working with children and educational groups.
Qualifications
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, tourism, education, or related fields.
- Experience working with children, students, or group visitors.
- Experience in public interaction and guest-facing environments.
- A strong commitment to guest service.
- A friendly and engaging demeanor.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, public holidays, and during school peak seasons.
- Experience as a tour guide, educator, interpreter, or attraction host is a plus.
- Knowledge of marine life and environmental conservation is a plus.
- Public speaking or presentation experience is a plus.
