Responsibilities
1. Manage stock levels, vehicle routes, delivery times and transport costs
2. Coordinate and control the delivery cycle, ensuring that orders are prioritized correctly and processed on time
3. Deal with delivery issues
4. Extract and analyze daily performance reports, evaluating the performance and quality of both internal and third-party service
5. Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs
6. Manage and motivate a staff team
7. Analyzing logistical problems and producing solutions
8. Develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures
9. Develop new or alternative supply strategies
10. Understand and implement health and safety procedures
11. Identify, plan and manage logistics projects that will improve efficiency, resilience and performance
12. Use specialist knowledge, such as vehicle-handling systems, to provide consultancy services - this may be a requirement in some roles
Qualifications
1. Male or Female, Age of 40-45 years.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chains or higher in any related field
3. 10 years of working experience in a multi-national trading company or food business would be an advantage
4. A logical and systematic approach to work
5. The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions
6. Data interpretation skills as logistics are becoming increasingly digital
7. Commercial awareness and numeracy skills
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
9. The ability to lead and motivate a team
10. Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
11. Time management, with the ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy and keep to deadlines
12. Excellent oral and written communication skills
13. Negotiation and influencing skills
