Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and follow up supplier quality performance, including supplier defects, PPM, rejection rate, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers to investigate and resolve quality issues related to incoming materials and components.
• Perform root cause analysis and support suppliers in developing corrective and preventive actions using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and other appropriate problem-solving tools.
• Follow up supplier corrective actions and verify the effectiveness of implemented actions.
• Conduct supplier quality audits and process audits according to company requirements.
• Support supplier evaluation and qualification activities for new and existing suppliers.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and relevant internal departments regarding supplier quality issues.
• Support supplier improvement activities to reduce defects and improve quality performance.
• Prepare supplier quality reports, audit reports, and corrective action follow-up reports.
• Monitor and report supplier quality KPIs and highlight potential quality risks.
• Support incoming inspection and investigation of supplier-related quality problems.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding engineering changes, process changes, and material changes when required.
• Support new product development and supplier quality activities, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, and related quality documents.
• Participate in supplier meetings and follow up on agreed quality improvement actions.
• Maintain supplier quality records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Support internal and external audits related to supplier quality.
• Perform other duties and quality improvement activities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical) or a related field
- 3-8 years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) or Quality Engineer
- Understanding of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949
- Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, PPAP, APQP
- Strong analytical and systematic problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with external parties
- Previous experience in the automotive or electronics industry is a plus.
