Japan Tobacco International (JTI) is a part of the Japan Tobacco Group of companies, a leading international tobacco product manufacturer listed in Fortunes Global 500.  JTI was formed in 1999 when the JT Group purchased the non-US businesses of RJ Reynolds International. Throughout the company’s 13 year history, it has been successful in growing volume and profitability. In 2007 JT acquired the UK based Gallaher Ltd, which doubled the size of JTI and was at the time the largest ever takeover of a foreign company by a Japan based company.
