The Siam Gypsum Industry (SGI) widely recognized as “Elephant Gypsum, was founded in July 1982 by Siam Cement Group (SCG) a leading innovative construction materials and chemicals company in Thailand, with the mission to manufacture and deliver super premium-quality gypsum wall and ceiling solutions.

Knauf Group, a family-owned company founded in 1932, is a global leader in interior construction materials, insulation, and ceiling systems, operating in 90+ countries across five continents, with a global workforce of 43,500.

In 2021, Siam Gypsum (SGI) established a joint venture between SCG and the Knauf Group. By combining local leadership with global expertise, we manufacture and distribute premium gypsum solutions under the Elephant Brand (Trachang) and Knauf brands.
