Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) is a state enterprise in the energy sector under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Finance. EGAT's primary business activities include the generation, distribution, and supply of electricity to the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), and other legally designated users in Thailand and neighboring countries. EGAT also engages in other electricity-related businesses within the framework of the EGAT Act. In the year 2022, EGAT conducted its business in line with the strategy to increase income through its existing capabilities and resources. With over 50 years of experience and expertise in the electricity sector, EGAT has gained trust from both domestic and international organizations. It provides high-quality and comprehensive services in the electricity industry, including engineering and construction of power plants and transmission systems, operation and maintenance of power plants, maintenance of transmission systems for EGAT's power plant customers, independent power producers (IPPs), small power producers (SPPs), as well as power plants from other industries. EGAT also produces by-products from electricity generation and provides telecommunications services. Furthermore, EGAT has expanded its business operations to countries in the ASEAN region.
