Responsibilities

Design & Planning:

  • Layout Strategy: Design the layout and traffic flow for buffet lines and coffee break stations to minimize congestion and ensure guest convenience.
  • Theming & Concept: Create decoration themes for food stations that align with specific event concepts (e.g., Weddings, Corporate Seminars, Festive Celebrations).
  • Prop Selection: Select appropriate props, chinaware, centerpieces, floral arrangements, and lighting to enhance the food presentation.
  • Space Planning: Create floor plans effectively to optimize the placement of coffee stations and buffet tables within the function room.

Setup & Execution:

  • Buffet Styling: Oversee the "elevation and leveling" of food displays to create visual interest. Ensure all food tags/labels are accurate and aesthetically placed.
  • Coffee Counter Organization: Design the setup of coffee machines, cups, condiments (sugar/creamer), and snacks to be ergonomic, accessible, and visually neat (Clean & Organized).
  • Coffee Break Display: Create appetizing displays for snacks and pastries, managing both individual servings and platter arrangements.
  • Pre-Event Inspection: Conduct a final check of all setups, including linen (tablecloths/skirting), cutlery, and cleanliness, at least 1 hour prior to the event.

Coordination & Maintenance:

  • Kitchen Collaboration: Liaise with the Executive Chef regarding vessel selection (chafing dishes/platters) suitable for the menu and coordinate food replenishment timing to maintain a full and fresh look.
  • Florist Coordination: Work with the florist team to ensure floral decorations match the station designs.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain and store decoration props, vases, and fabrics in good condition; manage inventory for setup equipment.
  • Hygiene Standards: Strictly enforce food safety and hygiene standards (GMP/HACCP) regarding food placement and station cleanliness.
Requirements
Qualifications
  1. Diploma or High in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Home Economics, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Banquet Operations, Event Styling, or Food Styling within a hotel or reputable catering company.
Skills & Competencies:
  1. Strong artistic sense and creativity (Good taste in color matching and prop usage).
  2. Knowledge of F&B equipment, chinaware, and glassware.
  3. Basic flower arrangement skills are a plus.
  4. Ability to solve immediate problems and work well under time pressure.
  5. Strong attention to detail.
