Position Overview
The Sourcing Manager for Electronic Components is responsible for securing a reliable, cost‑effective, and risk‑resilient supply base for all electronic components used in production. A core priority of this role is to proactively prevent stock‑outs through strategic supplier management, forecasting alignment, inventory risk mitigation, and strong cross‑functional collaboration.
The role is based out of Bangkok at an EMS facility and you will co-own the component together with the EMS Procurement department.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electronic components
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding
• Continuously benchmark market pricing, technology trends, and supplier capabilities
Supply Continuity & Stock‑Out Prevention
• Implement robust supply‑risk assessments and mitigation plans
• Maintain multi‑sourcing strategies for critical components
• Monitor supplier performance with focus on lead time adherence and supply reliability
• Collaborate with planning teams to align safety stock levels and forecast scenarios
Supplier Relationship Management
• Build strong relationships with key suppliers to secure priority allocation
• Drive supplier performance reviews and corrective actions
• Negotiate agreements ensuring flexibility, capacity commitments, and delivery assurance
Operational Procurement Support
• Work closely with Purchasing to resolve delivery issues
• Escalate supply risks early and lead resolution activities
• Coordinate last‑time‑buy decisions for product changes or obsolescence
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
• Partner with R&D, Engineering, and Quality on component selection
• Support Cost‑Down initiatives with engineering and finance
• Provide supply‑market insights during product lifecycle changes
Data & Analytics
• Leverage ERP/MRP data to proactively identify supply bottlenecks
• Track inventory coverage, supplier OTIF, allocation risks, and consumption trends
• Report KPI performance and stock‑out risk levels to leadership
