Responsibilities

1. Design to Manufacturing Data Management

Manufacturing Drawing Preparation and Conversion
- Interpret and translate Shop Drawings or client blueprints into finalized manufacturing models using the company's specialized software.
- Ensure designs are practical and feasible, taking into account production, assembly, and installation processes.

Production Documentation Generation
- Prepare essential documentation, including BOM (Bill of Materials), Cutting Lists, and CNC Data, via company's software for accurate and timely submission to relevant departments.

2. Product Design and Development

Present furniture design concepts, develop detailed drawings, and create 3D models.
Collaborate cross-functionally to develop furniture designs that meet criteria for aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturing efficiency.
Conduct thorough testing and evaluation of mock-ups/prototypes to identify areas for design improvement and resolve engineering issues.
Continuously research and apply industry trends, emerging technologies, and new materials to enhance design concepts.

3. Database and Software Management

Manage and update the database of materials, hardware, and furniture models within the specialized software to continuously enhance the capability of generating various production drawings.
Oversee and maintain the accuracy of related data within the company's database, and prepare supporting documentation for cross-departmental usage.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 to 7 years of experience in furniture design and technical drafting.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in using core design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit.
*Highly Advantageous: Candidates with experience using specialized furniture CAD/CAM software will be given special consideration, including imos, Woodwop, SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, and CabinetVision.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of the operation and limitations of machinery used in the production of panel furniture (wood-based boards).
Process Comprehension: Deep knowledge of the manufacturing process, materials, hardware (fittings), and techniques related to furniture production.
Communication Skills: Effective communication skills for internal coordination with colleagues and for presenting design concepts efficiently.
Personal Attributes: Possesses creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and thoroughness.
