Responsibilities

1. Strategic sourcing and supplier management

•         Build and maintain an Approved Supplier List for all categories, with qualification criteria agreed with QA.

•         Source and qualify local and overseas suppliers (Thailand, China, Japan, Taiwan, Europe) for carbon fabrics, prepregs, resins, EPS and textiles.

•         Secure at least two qualified sources for critical materials, or a documented risk plan where only one exists.

•         Run annual supplier performance reviews on price, on-time delivery, quality and responsiveness.

•         Manage supplier change control: no material, spec or supplier change without QA and engineering sign-off.

2. Quotations, negotiation and cost

•         Own all requests for quotation; requesting departments define only the technical need through the Material Request Slip (MRS).

•         Obtain a minimum of three quotations above an agreed value threshold, and document the selection rationale.

•         Negotiate tiered unit pricing across volume scenarios (e.g. 250 / 500 / 1,000 / 2,000 / 5,000 pcs) rather than accepting supplier-set MOQs.

•         Negotiate payment terms, Incoterms, lead times and price validity.

•         Provide material cost inputs for new product costing and BOM updates, working with BOM and Finance.

•         Track purchase price variance and deliver annual cost-reduction initiatives.

3. Purchasing operations and control (no ERP)

•         Run a controlled PR → RFQ → PO → GRN → invoice process with sequential PO numbering and an approval matrix aligned with Finance.

•         Maintain a central purchasing register (spreadsheet or database): open POs, delivery dates, prices and supplier master data.

•         Ensure three-way match (PO, goods receipt, invoice) before Finance releases payment.

•         Expedite late deliveries and report supply risks to Production planning weekly.

4. Materials planning and inventory support

•         Work with Production and Warehouse to set reorder points and safety stock for critical materials.

•         Manage shelf-life and storage requirements for prepregs and resins (frozen storage, out-time, expiry) to prevent write-offs.

•         Reduce slow-moving and obsolete stock; report stock-out incidents with root cause.

5. Quality, compliance and import

•         Ensure every lot of safety-critical material arrives with Certificate of Conformance / Analysis and full lot traceability.

•         Support helmet certification requirements (e.g. ECE 22.06, DOT, Snell) by keeping material specifications and supplier documents controlled.

•         Manage import documentation, customs clearance via brokers, duties and BOI privileges where applicable.

•         Ensure purchasing complies with Thai law, company policy and anti-bribery rules, including gift and conflict-of-interest declarations.

6. New Product Introduction (NPI) and CAPEX

•         Join NPI from the sample stage: source new materials, confirm costs and lead times before release to production.

•         Source equipment and services for approved CAPEX requests, following the CAPEX governance policy.

7. Team building and systems readiness

•         Recruit, train and coach purchasing staff; define roles, job descriptions and a training plan for each team member.

•         Write and maintain Purchasing SOPs and forms.

•         Clean and structure supplier, item and price master data to prepare for an ERP; act as purchasing key user in any ERP selection and rollout.

Qualifications

•         Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business or related field.

•         8+ years in purchasing in a manufacturing environment, including 3+ years as manager or section head.

•         Direct experience buying technical raw materials (composites, polymers, chemicals, foams or textiles).

•         Proven record of building or overhauling a purchasing function: processes, controls, team.

•         Experience running purchasing without an ERP, or through an ERP implementation.

•         Strong negotiation skills with both Thai and international suppliers.

•         Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data validation); comfortable building trackers and dashboards.

•         Working knowledge of import procedures, Incoterms, customs and BOI.

•         Thai: native. English: good written and spoken (supplier negotiation, reporting to management).
