BASIC FUNCTIONS REQUIRED:

Serves as the liaison between the Bureau of Global Public Affairs’ Office of International Media Engagement (GPA/IME) in Washington, GPA’s Office of Research and Office of Analytics (collectively known as R&A), the Bangkok Hub, and posts in the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region. This staff member will leverage the full toolkit provided by GPA’s Research and Analytics team to support the Regional Media Hubs and posts throughout the EAP region on a broad spectrum of research and analysis products. The incumbent reports to the Strategic Communications Specialist, who determines the objectives and resources available for assignments; defines objectives, priorities and deadlines; and assists the incumbent with unusual situations which do not have clear precedents. The incumbent plans and carries out assignments or projects and resolves many problems or deviations in the work according to instructions, policies, previous training or accepted research and analytics practices. The supervisor evaluates completed work primarily in terms of the incumbent’s successful development, and for technical soundness, responsiveness, appropriateness, and conformance to policy and program requirements, and secondarily for methods or techniques used.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

(1) Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science, communications/journalism, political science, international relations, or marketing.
(2) Experience: At least three years of experience in professional positions leveraging data analysis tools and various analytic and methodology in a fast-paced office is required.
(3) Language: (This may be tested.)
• Fluent (Reading/Writing/Speaking) of English and Thai is required. You can submit a copy of valid TOEIC score (Listening and Reading Section) of at least 855, or pass the English Placement Test (EPT) that is conducted by the Human Resources Office.
(4) Skills: (This may be tested.)
• Must have skills in research and analysis.
• Ability to explain and promote tools, methodology.
• Ability to analyze and interpret media and public opinion in order to advise on the most effective way to communicate with audiences.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to interpret and explain ploitical, social cultural, and economic issues of importance to target audiences, operational proficiency with of analytics suites of digital and social media platforms.
(5) Knowledge: (This may be tested.)
• Knowledge of research, public affairs, social media analytics and analysis, and data analysis.
