Engineer (Assistant Resident Engineer in Charge of Construction) - US Embassy Bangkok

SALARY: Starting from TH฿ 1,422,098 per annum

WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week

The U.S. Mission in Thailand is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Engineer (Assistant Resident Engineer in Charge of Construction (AREICC)) in the ROICC.

(1) Education: A university degree in Civil / Structural / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Design from an accredited institution is required.  

(2) Experience: Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience as a registered professional engineer performing work related to building construction and renovation on residential or commercial development projects is required. Minimum of one year of supervisory experience is required.   

• Fluent (Reading/Writing/Speaking) of Thai is required.

• Fluent (Reading/Writing/Speaking) of English is required. You can submit a copy of valid TOEIC score (Listening and Reading Section) of at least 855, or pass the English Placement Test (EPT) that is conducted by the Human Resources Office. 

• Ability to create design or construction cost estimates and review construction drawings for code compliance.

• Must be familiar with design and construction standards, engineering, and related technical standards.

• Must have substantial skill in preparing engineering reports, specifications, and related materials in English.

• Must have a valid, current local driver’s license is required. Incumbent must be at least 25 years old and have been holding a driver's license for a minimum of five years is required. Please submit a driver's license with your application.

• Must be a registered professional engineer licensed (Level 2) by government association. Please submit the license with your application. 

• Must have an expert knowledge of building design and construction practices and a comprehensive knowledge of local building and construction codes.

• Knowledge construction cost estimating and price and cost analysis techniques sufficient to evaluate Thai and other SE Asia contractors’proposals and prepare a negotiation position.
