BASIC FUNCTIONS REQUIRED:
The incumbent assists the Supervisory Financial Assistant (Chief of Finance) on accounting, finance, travel advisor for budget, and other financial matters of the Regional Program: International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Bangkok, which operates under a Letter of Agreement (LOA) between the Royal Thai Government and the Government of the United States.
The incumbent reports directly to the Supervisory Financial Assistant (Chief of Finance) and provides support in various financial matters for ILEA Bangkok which manages multi-year funds valued at $17.5 million and assists Chief of Finance in coordinating with ILEA regional subscribing countries, U.S. embassy’s Financial Management Center (FMC) and Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA). In addition, the incumbent is accountable for drafting the sub-budgets, requesting initial funds, preparing final accounting reports, and storing original financial supporting documents for at least 10 years and other necessary requirements on documentation in accordance with the U.S. Thai LOA regarding ILEA Bangkok program.
ILEA Bangkok’s annual responsibility is to house and train approximately 75 courses annually with more than 3,000 law enforcement professionals ranging from Captain to General from approximately 37 countries in Asia and Pacific Island countries (PICs). The ILEA Bangkok project is a 24-hour a day, 7 days a week operation.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
(1) Education: Completion of two years of college or university studies is required.
(2) Experience: A minimum of two (2) years in the field of finance, accounting, or business administration is required.
(3) Language: (This may be tested.)
• Fluent (Reading/Writing/Speaking) of Thai is required.
• Good working knowledge (Reading/Writing/Speaking) of English is required. You can submit a copy of valid TOEIC score (Listening and Reading Section) of at least 600 or pass the English Placement Test (EPT) that is conducted by the Human Resources Office.
(5) Knowledge: (This may be tested.)
• Knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
