BASIC FUNCTIONS REQUIRED: 


The incumbent serves as a Data Analyst for the Department of Bacterial & Parasitic Diseases at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research-Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences (WRAIR-AFRIMS).The Data Analyst position supports the department’s research mission by providing advanced statistical and data analysis expertise for departmental and collaborative research studies. The position is responsible for preparing, managing, and analyzing complex research datasets; advising investigators on study design, statistical power, and analytical methods; and producing high-quality analytical outputs for scientific manuscripts and reports. The role operates in a project-based, non-supervisory capacity and collaborates with internal and external partners, including international and contractor personnel. Through rigorous analysis, technical guidance, and effective coordination, the position ensures that research findings are scientifically sound, reproducible, and capable of making a meaningful impact.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

(1) Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or Biology is required.
(2) Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in advanced data analysis in a research or scientific environment, including managing and analyzing complex datasets, applying statistical methods using R, supporting research protocols, producing analytical outputs for scientific manuscripts, and collaborating with investigators and/or research staff is required.
(3) Language:  (This may be tested.)
• Fluent (Reading/Writing/Speaking) of Thai is required. 
• Fluent (Reading/Writing/Speaking) of English is required. You can submit a copy of valid TOEIC score (Listening and Reading Section) of at least 855, or pass the English Placement Test (EPT) that is conducted by the Human Resources Office. 
(4) Skills: (This may be tested.)
• Effective written and oral communication skills are required to explain technical information to non-statistical audiences and collaborate with investigators and research staff in a professional research environment.
(5) Knowledge: (This may be tested.)
• Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis methods, research design, and data management principles typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, or a related quantitative field.
