Responsibilities
Teaching Assistant (Physical Education)
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Teaching Assistant (PE) to join our school community and support the delivery of high-quality Physical Education learning experiences, primarily within the Primary School.
The successful candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for sport, child development, and healthy lifestyles, and will work closely with PE teachers to support students in a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Support PE teachers in delivering engaging and safe Physical Education lessons
• Assist with the organisation and preparation of sports equipment and learning spaces
• Support students during PE lessons, swimming sessions, sports activities, and events
• Encourage student participation, teamwork, and positive sporting attitudes
• Assist with supervision during activities, competitions, and school events
• Work collaboratively with staff as part of a supportive PE team
• Promote student wellbeing, safety, and inclusion during all activities
Qualifications
Requirements
• Experience working with children in a Physical Education or sports-related setting
• Relevant qualifications related to Physical Education, Sports Science, Coaching, Child Development, or a related field preferred
vStrong passion for sport, physical activity, and student wellbeing
• Background and experience in swimming is essential
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Patient, proactive, and enthusiastic when working with young learners
Desirable Qualities
• Experience supporting Primary-aged children
• Knowledge of child safeguarding and student safety practices
• Experience assisting with swimming instruction or aquatic activities
• Flexible and willing to contribute to wider school sporting events and activities
