Responsibilities
Job Description
- Serve as the primary window person and key point of contact for quality-related issues and claims from Automotive OEM customers, particularly Ford (both domestic and overseas plants).
- Manage and update customer claims through Customer Supplier Portals, ensuring all responses strictly meet the customer's specified timelines.
- Lead cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, QA) to conduct in-depth Root Cause Analysis for complex quality issues.
- Prepare, review, and submit comprehensive Global 8D (G8D) reports and other required problem-solving documentation to customers.
- Define, implement, and verify the effectiveness of immediate Containment Actions and long-term Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Interpret and integrate Customer Specific Requirements (CSR), especially Ford's standards, into the company’s internal IATF 16949 quality management system.
- Coordinate and support customer audits, including preparation for specific quality system assessments (e.g., Ford Q1 requirements).
- Facilitate international conference calls with overseas customer teams to present investigation findings and action plans professionally.
- Analyze quality trends, track claim data, and initiate continuous improvement projects to reduce defect rates and the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Act as a mentor to provide guidance, coaching, and technical support regarding quality tools and claim management to junior engineers.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of direct experience as a Customer Quality Engineer, QA Engineer, or in Claim Management within a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment.
- Deep understanding of the IATF 16949 quality system and automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
- Strong knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements (CSR), with a distinct advantage for those experienced with American automakers (e.g., Ford).
- Advanced analytical skills with proven experience in generating robust Global 8D reports.
- Excellent command of English (Advanced/Fluent), with the ability to confidently conduct international conference calls and write technical engineering reports.
- Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under high pressure and tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to customer assembly plants (Car Makers) domestically or internationally as required.
