Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Customer & Marketing Alignment: Receive and analyze new product requirements and technical data from clients to conduct Feasibility Studies in close collaboration with the Marketing department.
- Cost & Quotation Support: Provide engineering insights, process analysis, and precise cost estimations to support the Marketing team in preparing accurate and competitive quotations for customers.
- APQP Management: Lead, manage, and monitor the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process from project initiation through to Mass Production, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
- Engineering Change Control: Spearhead the Engineering Change Request/Notice (ECR/ECN) process for new models, evaluating impacts and coordinating with all related departments to ensure seamless implementation.
- PPAP Submission: Prepare, control, and verify the accuracy of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation to ensure timely submission and approval by international clients.
- Trial Run Supervision: Oversee and monitor Trial Runs (Tryouts) in coordination with the Production, Quality, and Supplier teams to ensure parts meet strict customer specifications and standards.
- Cross-functional Hub: Act as the Project Leader and primary liaison between clients, Marketing, Engineering, and Production teams to drive projects toward cost, time, and quality targets.
- Problem Solving & Countermeasures: Analyze defects found during trial phases and utilize engineering problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D Report, Why-Why Analysis) to identify root causes and implement systematic countermeasures.
- Standard & Compliance: Ensure all new model development and engineering changes strictly comply with the IATF 16949 automotive quality management system and Customer-Specific Requirements (CSR).
- Team Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, coaching, and project management mentorship to junior engineers within the Engineering Change New Model team.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering (IE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in New Model/New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change, or R&D within the manufacturing sector (experience in the automotive parts industry is highly preferred).
- Language Proficiency (Mandatory): Excellent command of spoken and written English. Must be highly capable of professional communication, conducting presentations, negotiating with international clients, and drafting technical engineering reports.
- Technical Standards: In-depth knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 and Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
- Engineering Skills: Proficient in reading engineering drawings (GD&T), understanding complex technical specifications, and possessing foundational skills in 2D/3D design software.
- Soft Skills & Business Mindset: Exceptional project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a business-oriented mindset to effectively support and align with Marketing objectives.
