Responsibilities
1. Geological Mapping & Logging
- Conduct geological face mapping of shafts, development headings, crosscuts, and production areas.
- Perform core logging and geological description of exploration, geotechnical, and grade control drillholes.
- Identify and record lithology, geological structures, discontinuities, faults, joints, shear zones, alteration zones, and groundwater occurrences.
- Maintain accurate geological records and field notebooks.
2. Orebody Interpretation & Model Updates
- Assist in updating geological and orebody models using mapping, drilling, sampling, and production data.
- Interpret ore boundaries and geological contacts.
- Validate geological models against actual mining exposures.
- Identify discrepancies between modelled and actual geology.
- Support reconciliation of geological models with production results.
3. Grade Control
- Assist with implementation of grade control programs.
- Collect and manage ore and waste samples for laboratory analysis.
- Monitor ore quality and grade distribution.
- Assist in minimizing ore loss and dilution.
- Maintain grade control records and databases.
4. Mining Direction & Ore Control
- Provide geological guidance to mining and development crews.
- Mark ore boundaries and geological contacts underground.
- Assist Mine Planning and Mining Engineers in defining mining limits.
- Recommend mining directions based on ore continuity and geological conditions.
- Monitor compliance with ore extraction plans.
5. Ground Condition Monitoring
- Monitor geological conditions during shaft sinking and underground development.
- Identify unexpected geological features and changing ground conditions.
- Report geological hazards and anomalies to the Senior Geologist.
- Assist with geological investigations relating to water inflow, weak ground, or structural features.
6. Geological Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly geological reports.
- Update geological plans, sections, and longitudinal projections.
- Maintain geological databases and digital records.
- Prepare geological memorandums and technical summaries.
7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Comply with all project HSE requirements and mine safety regulations.
- Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification activities.
- Report unsafe conditions and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Follow all underground safety procedures and emergency response requirements.
8. Other Duties
- Assist with geological investigations, probe drilling programs, and special studies as required.
- Support EIA monitoring and regulatory reporting activities where applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Geologist or Mine Geology & Geotechnical Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years in engineering roles in construction or mining industry (preferred experience in underground geology, face mapping, core logging and ground condition monitoring)
- Skilled in Resource Modelling, Geostatistics & Resource Estimation
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Software
- Skilled in Surpac, Micromine, Acquire, Mp3 or Vulcan Software
- Preferred English Proficiency Score (TOEIC: 850 , IELTS: 6)
- Can be allocated to work in Dan Khun Thot (Nakhon Ratchasima Province)
