Purchasing / Sourcing Engineer – Mechanical Parts - GLOCAL HR CO.,LTD.

Salary : 25,000 - 35,000 THB

Key Responsibilities :

Sourcing & Supplier Selection 

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers of mechanical parts (machining, stamping, casting, forging, rubber/plastic molding parts) both domestic and overseas to meet customer requirements.
• Review customer drawings and specifications, and prepare and issue RFQ packages to suppliers.
• Analyze quotations and cost breakdowns, and compare technical and commercial proposals.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead time, MOQ, and delivery conditions to achieve cost and quality targets.

 

Purchasing & Delivery Management 

• Issue purchase orders (PO) and follow up on production and shipment to ensure on-time delivery in accordance with customer requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers, Sales, and QA teams to solve quality, delivery, and specification issues, including claims and corrective actions.
• Monitor raw material price trends and market situation and report to management.
• Maintain purchasing database and records, and prepare weekly/monthly purchasing reports.

 

Supplier Development & Quality Assurance 

• Conduct supplier assessment, audit, and development activities.
• Maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and regularly evaluate supplier performance in terms of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
• Support suppliers in improving quality systems (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949) and following up corrective and preventive actions.

 

New Part Development & Cost Reduction 

• Support new part development: place sample/prototype orders, monitor tooling progress, and follow up First Article / PPAP documents.
• Drive cost-reduction activities such as alternative sourcing, VA/VE, and localization.
• Support design change and engineering change management with suppliers and customers.

 

Internal Collaboration 

• Work closely with Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Management teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Support inventory planning and delivery scheduling with related departments.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering fields.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in purchasing/sourcing of mechanical parts, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
• Able to read and interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of mechanical part manufacturing processes (machining, stamping, casting, forging, rubber/plastic molding, surface & heat treatment) and their cost structures.
• Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and supplier management skills.
• Business-level English communication; Chinese language is a plus.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel is a plus); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality systems and PPAP/APQP documents is a plus.
• Positive attitude, logical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work independently under pressure.
• Possess a valid driving license and able to travel to supplier sites upcountry and overseas for visits and audits.
• Own vehicle is an advantage.
